Jeanie Marie Buss was born in America. The current president is as well as the sole owner of the Los Angeles Lakers National Basketball Association. Buss is a California born and raised in an affluent family. Jerry Buss, her father, was an entrepreneur with a real estate business who later became owner of Lakers Sports and Entertainment. Her parents parted ways in 1972 which made her feel emotionally abandoned. As a 19-year-old she was able to take over the Los Angeles Strings professional Tennis team as the General Manager. She later set up an organization called the Los Angeles Blades professional roller hockey team. She also served as president of the Great Western Forum before assuming the duties of the vice president for the Lakers. Her father passed away in 2013, and his control over ownership for the Lakers was transferred to Buss as well as her siblings via a trust for the family with each sibling having an equal vote. Her duties were assumed as the president of the Los Angeles Lakers. Buss is also a co-owner of Women of Wrestling a pro-wrestling organization based at Los Angeles.
