Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine, a singer-composer recognized for his distinctive mix that combines soul jazz R&B and R&B. Sunshine has performed everywhere from Broadway to the Democratic National Convention to the European party and concert scenes. Sunshine's her name as Denise White. She hails from Chester Pennsylvania, where she began her career in music by performing on the piano as well as singing at church. She went to Spellman College in Atlanta where she began her education at the heart of Atlanta's R&B scene. Jennifer Holliday was the Grammy and Tony Award winner who approached her in 2007 to serve as the director of chorus for Dreamgirls The stage show of Atlanta's National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine gained national recognition through four performances a day at the 2008 Democratic National Convention and was subsequently invited to sing at Obama's inauguration ceremony in 2009.
