Winona-Ryder
Winona Ryder (born Winona Laura Hornowitz) was born in Winona Minnesota. Parents named her Winona after her hometown. Michel Horowitz is her father as well as Cynthia Palmer is her mother. Ryder's father is from an ethnically Jewish family Ryder believes she is Jewish. She has also a half-sister named Sunyata Jubal. Ryder's younger sibling is Uria. Ryder's family relocated from Mendocino County, California, when she was just seven. In those days, there wasn't electricity. Ryder who read a lot when she was 12 became a book worm since Ryder had no access to television. Ryder began taking classes in acting at the American Conservatory Theatre when she was 12 years old. At the age of 15, Ryder landed her very first role onscreen, playing Lucas. Ryder endured bullying while in highschool. Her thought was that by becoming an actor her behaviour would be changed. Unfortunately that didn't come to be. But she continued to pursue her dream. Beetlejuice, a 1988 Tim Burton film, was her first major break. Ryder played successful roles for several films. In 1993, she was nominated twice for Academy Awards. One of the nominations was for her part In The Age of Innocence.
