It was an important stepping stone for her career. She began getting offers for movies like Urban Legend and Cruel Intentions. However it is American Pie the cult movie featuring sexually explicit teens that put Reid as a potential star for Hollywood with her role as the virgin Vicky. This did not result in an impressive, lucrative Hollywood career. Reid suffered several failures, including unfavorable films such as Josie and the Pussycats. The film was not a great comeback for her career. The actress had a minor role on the set of American Pie 2, but unfortunately it did little to help.
